Conference Program Posted
The CADSCOM 2021 event program is available here. Additional information including Zoom login information will be emailed to the registered participants by March 17. The event will be held from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on March 20. All times are Central Time (Minneapolis, USA).

Free Registration for Participants!
The event was sold out! But, we have added more seats. We are excited to offer free registration for attendees who are not presenting research papers. Note: For participants who are presenting research, the registration fee is $20 for student authors and $50 for faculty authors.

Keynote and Panels Announced
We are delighted to announce that Dr. Radhika Kulkarni will deliver the keynote address at CADSCOM 2021. Dr. Kulkarni is the retired Vice President of R&D at SAS and is the President-Elect of INFORMS. In addition to the keynote and research paper presentations, CADSCOM will feature the following panels and talks:

The Twin Cities ACM Chapter invites students, faculty, and professionals to CADSCOM 2021! The 3rd Colloquium on Analytics, Data Science, and Computing (CADSCOM) will be held virtually on Saturday, March 20, 2021.

CADSCOM provides an excellent opportunity for faculty, students, and professionals to share their original research in data science, analytics, and computing. The submissions are peer-reviewed and double-blind reviewed. The colloquium will feature prominent keynotes, industry-faculty panels, and peer-reviewed papers.

CADSCOM 2021 has been approved by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) as a chapter conference. We are proud to partner with the Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence, Metropolitan State University, and Minnesota State University Mankato to host CADSCOM 2021.

Submission Guidelines

The Call for Papers is available at the CADSCOM’s EasyChair page. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The submission process as follows:

Submission Types

  • Full paper submissionThe full papers should not exceed single-spaced 6 pages, including all content and references. All submissions must be in PDF format and formatted according to the format guidelines.
  • Research-in-progress submission: The research-in-progress papers are either abstracts or a summary of the initial results of an in-progress study. The research-in-progress submission must not exceed single-spaced 2 pages including all contents and references.
  • Research poster submission: A 2-page abstract (including all content and references) is required for digital posters. If approved, the authors will present their work through a digital poster during the online poster session.

Submission Directions

Submit the paper to EasyChair.  All submissions must be in PDF format and formatted according to the format guidelines. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR NAME OR ANY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN THE DOCUMENT to facilitate a double-blind review, and we will track submissions using a submission record number.  You can download the submission template from here: CADSOM2021 Submission Template

Once your paper is accepted, you will be added to the CADSCOM 2021 program.  All submissions need to be original work that is not published anywhere else. For each accepted paper, at least one author must register for and attend the Colloquium to present the paper.

Important Policies

  • For each accepted paper, at least one author must register for and attend the Colloquium to present the paper. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CADSCOM 2021 will be held virtually via Zoom.
  • The author(s) must take full responsibility for the entire content of their paper.
  • All submissions will go through a blind peer review process.
  • The submitted papers will be evaluated based on their clarity, quality, potential impact, and reproducibility.
  • The author(s) must follow the formatting and style guidelines.
  • The author(s) must not include any identifying information (such as names and affiliations) anywhere in their submission.
  • The author(s) must check their submission for any potential plagiarism. Any submission that violates ethical conduct of research will be rejected.
  • All submissions need to be original work that are not published anywhere else.

List of Topics

Organizations are seeking to harness data to improve decision-making, foment innovation, and discover insights. The purpose of CADSCOM is to promote and disseminate novel and cutting-edge ideas that can improve the understanding of concepts, challenges, opportunities, and technology related to real-world data projects. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Data Ethics and Security: privacy and ethical issues and solutions, best practices in data security, data encryption algorithms and techniques, social impact and implications for big data analytics.
  • Big Data Applications: novel applications of big data in sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, healthcare, retail, finance, education, manufacturing, transportation, and other domains.
  • Emerging Technologies: blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), quantum computing, autonomous vehicles, etc.
  • Business Management and Strategy-making: Applications of advanced business analytics in management and governance.

Publication of Proceedings

The accepted papers will be available through this website and will be indexed in Google Scholar.

The top three articles accepted for CADSCOM 2021 will be eligible for fast track review for the Journal of the Midwest Association of Information Systems (JMWAIS). The articles that are published in JMWAIS are also available from the AIS eLibrary.

Venue

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CADSCOM 2021 will be held virtually via Zoom.

Registration

Registration fee: $20 for students presenting their research work, and $50 for educators and professionals presenting. Free registration for attendees! The registration will open on February 14, 2021.
